Stouffville Medical Research Institute (SMRI) is a community-based clinical research site connected to Stouffville Medical Centre. Our goal is to help bring clinical research closer to patients by offering access to research opportunities in a familiar healthcare environment led by local physicians and supported by an experienced research team.

What We Do

SMRI supports clinical research studies in select therapeutic areas relevant to community-based care. Depending on the needs of each study, our team may assist with participant screening, study visits, follow-up appointments, health monitoring, and study-related coordination in accordance with approved research protocols.

While SMRI provides general information about our site and the conditions we commonly research, detailed information about active studies, eligibility, and participation opportunities is available through JoinAStudy.ca.

Our team values:

  • Clear and honest communication
  • Respect for patient choice
  • Privacy and confidentiality
